SOCIAL EVENING WITH A BAR-B-QUE

The social evening is one important calendar date to remember, it is the opportunity for all members and their families to come and join us in what has proved to be a very enjoyable and relaxing evening  in previous years. It is a team effort on the evening where some members stop turning wood and start turning sausages and burgers. Besides the food and drinks the main theme of the evening is the "club competition" where members enter either the "President's Cup" where the theme this year will face plate / bowl turning and for the "Ebeneezer's Cup"  anything turned between centres. The judging is carried out by all the those present.  We finish the evening with a grand draw, which always goes down well.

This year we are changing the evening to a mini celebration of our 25th anniversary. There will be a sit down buffet, speakers and the club competition, along with the draw, proceeds to the ESAB. Ticket only, arrive 6.30 for 7pm start.

A good evening was had by all, thanks to all who helped in making it possible. Mark Cordle won both cups with 2 stunning pieces, fending off some other outstanding entries. The raffle raised an excellent £201, plus gift aid, for the East Suffolk Assoc for the Blind, who have been outstanding with their help to Geoff and Maureen.
